Background
The organization offers this project proposal with the interest and hope to implement a project named “NGO Health Service Delivery Project (NHSDP) to Pathfinder International (PI) in some 18 upazilas of 3 hill districts which has been being supported by USAID-DFID through Pathfinder International. The project duration is June 2016 to September, 2017. However, it has been extended till December 2017 and from January 2018, the project revised by Chemonics International with entitle of Advancing Universal Health Coverage (AUHC).
This project was proposed to be managed, supervised and monitored by an experienced and skilled project team who has adequate working experience in the CHT region. By establishing 18 midway homes in 18 upazilas of 3 hill districts the organization will deliver some basic health services on safe delivery, ANC, PNC and ENC, Immunization (EPI), family planning (short term, PPFP, LARC method), management of STI/RTI, limited curative care and NCD, health education and community mobilization. The health service will be mainly delivered by some 54 paramedics with the assistance of other support staffs. Also, the organization intends to take the attempt to strengthen the existing 7 Surjer Hashi(SH) clinics as referral center.
The project has a two-pronged strategy; the first is providing services from static and satellite clinics set up by the project, and the second is training local women as paramedics in order to establish self-sustaining service delivery units that are linguistically and geographically accessible to the targeted communities. The project mainly focuses on women, children, extreme poor in delivering the services. At the same time, the organization with due importance to Hill district council, GOB departments, health, family planning etc. is also make active coordination and collaboration with the UN bodies, media, relevant stakeholders at District, Upazila and grassroots level.

Project Goal/Objective:
Improve accessibility of maternal and family health services especially for the un-served and resource poor ethnic minorities to expand selected services in CHT through a cohesive network of NGOs in collaboration with GOB, NGO, and Community stakeholders.

Emergency response to land slide affected people in Rangamati District:
Historic devastating natural disaster in Rangamati due to heavy and long rainfall on June 12 & 13, 2017 remarkable number (115) of human dead and lot of physically injured that ever seen the people living in Chittagong Hill Tracts. Green Hill-NHSDP team has successfully organized 13 medical camps from 16 June 2017 to 02 July 2017 in different disaster affected areas in Rangamati town. Two medical team, member including doctors, paramedics, nurses, pharmacist and support & management staff separately or jointly served the disaster affected people with proper treatment and free medicine supplies. So far, a total number of 520 people including 42 children of 0-5 years and 358 women have been provided basic essential health care services with medicine and sanitary pad for adolescent and women.
Lesson Learnt:
- Using IEC materials (flipchart, leaflet, and brochure) help Client/Customer good understanding of the subject and effective tool for counselling and awareness session.
- Due to lack of availability of medicine, sometimes patients are not interested to visit the clinic.
- Availability of Professional Doctors’ (MBBS) service increase Patient/Client’s number at Clinic level.
